Calsens team, together with the Reinforcements Corrosion and Structural Safety Research Group of the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (IETCC), are carrying out the implementation of a monitoring system for the durability and in service performance of a reinforced concrete structure, in a newly constructed building, located on quay 5 of the port of Alicante. Specific sensors have been developed for its installation in reinforced concrete elements in a particularly aggressive environment for the structure, such as the maritime environment, in order to establish an appropriate predictive maintenance strategy.
